By now, all of you have heard about this.

This is the man that started it.

His name is Harold Camping. He is an 89-year old Christian radio broadcasterand president of Family Radio, a California-based religious broadcasting network that covers more than 150 outlets in the United States as well as a website. He uses Bible-based numerology to predict dates for the end of the world. Before publicizing his current prediction of today’s occuring Rapture, he had previously predicted that the Rapture would occur in September 1994.

His current folowers have let go of their homes, jobs and life savings because they believe that today is it. My question is what happens when Sunday morning rolls around and noone has been taken up? What are his followers going to do? Don’t get me wrong, I am a Christian and do believe that Jesus is coming back and all the saved folks will be taken up in the Rapture. But, if Camping and his crew are going by the same Bible my mama and pastor go by, it clearly states:

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”                         –Matthew 24:36

“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of
the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that
causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him
hear.”

So, how is Camping going to trump scripture and say it’s going to happen May 21, 2011 at 6pm in every time zone by Earthquakes??

*shoulder shrug*

All I know is if my mama and auntie are still at the house tomorrow, no rapture occured. If they weren’t swooped up, we’re all in trouble!
